FAQ's about Katy

Q: Is Katy Perry her real name?
A: No, her real name is Katheryn (Katy) Elizabeth Hudson

Q: Why did she change it to Katy Perry?
A:  When Katy first came out as an artist in Christian music at the age of 16 and wanted to move on with her career, she released her album under the name Katy Hudson. But there is an actress with the name Kate Hudson, and she changed her name to Katy Perry (her mother's maiden name was Perry) to avoid any possible confusion.

Q: How old is she?
A: 28

Q: Does she have any siblings?
A: Yes, she has a sister named Angela and a brother named David.

Q: Who are her parents?
A: Her mother and father are Mary and Keith Hudson. They're traveling ministers of Pentecostal Christianity.

Q: Is Katy a Christian?
A: Yes, she is. She says that she may not believe in "all the little details" that her mother and father do, but that she does believe in god and has a "one on one relationship with him."

Q: What is Katy's real hair color?
A: It could be called blonde or dirty blonde, but she started dying it dark as a teenager and (as everyone knows) has recently been dying it various bright colors.

Q: What is the name of her cat?
Katy has three cats actually. The most famous is "Kitty Purry". Yes, her cat is actually named after her. I think it's fun and creative in a way- she loves cats, so why not combine her own name with cat-like things in a cute cat-like way? Kitty is seen as Katy's "mascot" and even makes a cameo appearance in the "I Kissed a Girl" video. She also has two other cats named Krusty and Morrissey.
